Pitztal in winter

Everything white. Romantic villages, snow-covered forests, steep rock giants.Winter lives in the Tyrolean Pitztal, which is hidden between Ötztal and Kaunertal. The Pitztal is the roof of Tyrol, which has with its glacier the highest ski area in Austria (3440 m). The Rifflsee ski area is connected to the glacier with more demanding descents. The Hochzeiger is a few kilometers further down the valley and scores above all as a ski area for the whole family. While cross-country skiers complete their healthy altitude training in the Pitztal and can always look forward to perfectly groomed trails in the valley floor, ice climbers are fascinated by the waterfalls, which solidify into bizarre sculptures in winter. Those who hike can watch here and there how real cracks master the vertical.
